Natron
netjeryt or netjery in Egyptian.
Also know as
𓃀𓂧𓊺𓈓 bed
𓎛𓊃𓏠𓈖𓊺 ḥesmen
Natron is naturally occurring in Egypt. In Coptic Ϣⲓϩⲏⲧ/Šihēt Measure of the Hearts, Valley of Natron, which is eight different lakes in the region that produce Natron salt.
You can not get it in America. It is fairly easy to make however. It is made up of three basic parts sodium bicarbonate which is basically baking soda, Sodium carbonate it is very similar to Sodium bicarbonate so most people just use that. If you wish to add it into the recipe I have it listed bellow, sodium chloride or salt and sodium sulfate.
*If you are lazy or don't have the means to make it you can purchase the two part recipe here for pretty cheep* http://ancientways.com/?page_id=67
My recipe About as close to natural Natron as you can get
1) Sodium bicarbonate: Is baking soda and can be found in most stores.
2) Sodium carbonate: You can also get in the laundry aisle called. It is called washing Soda, soda ash or soda crystals. Or in pool supply store.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sodium%20carbonate
2) Sodium chloride: Kosher salt or sea salt
3) Sodium sulfate : Also known as Glauber's salt or sal mirabilis and is found in most detergents. Try amazon or ebay
http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Sulfate-Granular-Anhydrous-Crystals/dp/B005K4EKQQ
one cup: Sodium bicarbonate/ Baking soda
one cup: Sodium chloride/Salt
half cup: Sodium sulfate
half cup: Sodium carbonate
Place in a pot, covering the compound with water just covering the very top mix continually, and heat up to about medium heat. Let boil then keep mixing for a few minutes till it is melted together. Once mixed pour out on to a cookie sheet and either let it dry naturally or heat it up the oven to 300. It depends on the amount you make how long , but do not let it burn. About 30 mins for every 2 cups of Natron or so. You want it to dry out and then you want to break it up so it is flaky a bit like Kosher salt. I keep mine in air tight freezer bags.

Megaleion
Perfume- Also called Mcgalium. An ancient Greek perfume described by Thcophrastus. It contained 'burnt resin' and oil of balanos (which was first boiled 'for ten days and nights'), into which were mixed cinnamon, cassia and myrrh. A colorant was added. Theophrastus noted that this perfume and Mendesian perfume were the most troublesome to make, since they contained many costly ingredients. It was believed to be good for wounds. Being fairly heady it was, Theophrastus observed, best suited for women, especially as it was very long-lasting.The Romans also used Megalium, which in Pliny's time was composed of balanos oil, balsam,, calamus, sweet-rush, xylobalsam, cassia and resin.
