Roles
cosmic goddess of rebirth and the great flood, personified the primordial ocean which gave birth to Ra. The celestial cow emerged from the primeval ocean of the Nun, carrying the solar disc between her horns; before this event there was no day, night, death and rebirth. She became the mother of Ra, god of the sun, giving birth to him and giving him birth, then, every day to allow the world to come out of the darkness of the night. Symbol of motherhood, she became the mother of the pharaoh giving birth to him regenerated in the morning.
